Nothing better than an unexpected culinary treasure when you’re not even looking…

Arevalito, is a tiny bohemian cafe dishing out vegetarian dishes that consist mostly of sandwiches, salads, and tarts that change daily.  Attention to detail is what makes this hole in the wall stand out.  Everything appears to be made in-house, double bonus.

I arrived between lunch and dinner in search of a coffee with maybe something to nibble on.  My traveling companion had more of an appetite so he sprung for one of the daily sandwiches which came with a perfectly seasoned arugula salad.  The sandwich was a rockstar- homemade bread toasted and drizzled with olive oil, thick cuts of juicy tomato, fresh basil, and loads of mozzarella cheese.  It was more like a stacked grilled cheese with some tomato and basil thrown in.  Tez, mi amiga, and I ordered medialunas (which were warm fluffy buttery deliciousness, as they should be) to accompany our cafes con leche, however this did not stop of us from diving into the savory sandwich.   Arevalito, I will definitely be back for seconds.
